Background
Dr. Cahl leads interdisciplinary research at the intersection of ocean science, computer vision, and embedded systems, developing integrated hardware-software platforms that enable new modes of observation and analysis of the environment. His work focuses on perception of the littoral environment using vision and radar-based systems. To succeed with sensor deployment, semi-autonomous platform development for aerial and surface vehicles is performed.
