Avril T. Lail, LMSW, currently serves as Interim Director of Field Education in the College of Social Work at the University of South Carolina.
She brings more than 20 years of experience working with children and youth across a range of settings and has served as a field instructor throughout her career. Avril joined the university in 2020 and transitioned to the College of Social Work in 2022 as a Field Education Placement Manager.
She holds a Bachelor of Social Work from Columbia College and a Master of Social Work from the University of South Carolina. Avril is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in South Carolina, serves on the Board of Directors for City Year Columbia, and is a 2025 graduate of Leadership Columbia.
