University of South Carolina Press is one of the oldest and most distinguished publishing houses in the American South. Established in 1944, we currently have more than 1,200 titles available in print and digital formats and publish approximately 35 new works annually. Our editorial profile features critically acclaimed peer-reviewed books in Southern history, literary studies, African American studies, civil rights, Jewish studies, and rhetoric and communication. By publishing works that educate readers, expand scholarship, and provoke community conversations, we are also furthering the mission of the University of South Carolina.
