The Social Work Student Association strives to promote a forum for the needs and concerns of all students enrolled in the University of South Carolina College of Social Work, to provide service to the community, and to support and promote the professional development of students.

Officers

About SWSA

Membership in the organization is free, providing everyone an equal opportunity to participate. Open meetings are held once a month during the school year and you are welcome to attend to learn more about the organization and the different events that are being held. Active members have participated in the Clothesline Project and the AIDS Quilt Project. Others have coordinated educational workshops about Universal Living Wage, licensure requirements, Field Placement, and have had various speakers present on topics of interest.

SWSA is also the organization that plans the Hooding Ceremony for the graduating class in May, which includes fund raising, selecting a speaker, assisting with the nominations of the Educator of the Year as well as the professors for the actual hooding of students, and many other responsibilities.
