Announcing The
College Of Social Work
2nd Annual Social Justice Day 2005
Given at the University of South Carolina, the College of Social Work, and the Social Work community commitment to creating and sustaining a just and peaceful world, It is the intent of the USC College of Social Work through the I. DeQuincy Newman Institute for Peace and Justice, the SOWK 768K Class- Exploration In Social Justice Issues, and the COSW Alumni Society, to plan and implement this day of focus on justice.
It is expected that this day will provide a common focus for all of the College of Social Work Students, alumni, faculty, (field and classroom), and staff. As a common day of gathering, Dr. Lorraine M. Gutierrez (Professor of Social Work) will be the feature speaker. She has not only researched and Conceptualized justice, but also lives the concept.
