Graduate and Research Assistantships

We offer graduate and research assistantships to Full-time and Advanced Standing students. Assistantships are competitive and a limited number are awarded. Assistantships are awarded based on the applicant’s academic achievement and merit.

  • All MSW students awarded a graduate assistantship will receive a stipend.

  • Out-of-state and international students awarded Graduate Assistantships will have tuition reduced to in-state tuition rates.

  • Applications for graduate assistantships are required at the time of application to the MSW Program.

  • Notification of awards will be provided to students prior to the start of the program.

Financial Aid

CommunityGardenFutureThe College of Social Work is committed to supporting students through scholarships and fellowships. This year the College awarded more than 100 assistantships to resident and non-resident students.

The University of South Carolina’s Office of Financial Aid can also assist with other scholarship, loan, and grant applications.

The Graduate School has additional financial aid resources.
