13.        CPR training

All students who enroll for social work field placement (SOWK 781/782, SOWK 783/784 or SOWK 785/786) must first submit an Application for Field Placement in order to request a field placement.  This form is found at

(http://cosw.sc.edu/field/forms/index.html).  Students can only be confirmed for a field placement after the Field Education Office receives this application.

Field placement is considered an academic class, and the student will normally spend two days a week in an agency for their field placements while concurrently taking other SOWK classes.  Field placement is an integral part of the curriculum and is required in order to obtain the MSW degree.

An overview table of requirements is listed below.  The student has the responsibility to initiate the procedures to comply with the necessary requirements once they are confirmed for a field agency.  Failure to do so may result in delaying your field placement, getting an unsatisfactory grade, or not completing the requirements for the College's MSW degree.
