VISUAL INFORMATION PROCESSING (VIP)
This Intranet provides members of the USC community -- students, faculty, staff, and alumni -- secure, personal access to University data. You must have a valid USC ID number and PIN in order to login to VIP. VIP is the gateway to all USC technology, including Blackboard, GEM and Groupwise.
If you cannot login to VIP, or need your PIN reset, contact the help desk at (803) 777-1800. If you are not in Human Resources files, you cannot get into VIP.
To login to VIP, your Username is your 9 digit USC ID#.
Your default PIN is your 4-digit Date of Birth. You will need to change this PIN after initial login. Your PIN must be a 4-digit PIN.
E-MAIL:
Adjunct Faculty will receive a Groupwise Mail account from the College of Social Work. You must be on the USC payroll to keep a Groupwise account. Groupwise is your official e-mail for the University. You will receive official notices and information from the College from Groupwise.
To find your username and to set your password, you will need to login to VIP. In VIP select "Technology" and then "Show Me Network Username."

Groupwise FAQs
All faculty, staff and students of the University of South Carolina receive a Gamecock E-mail address (GEM). Your username and password are the same as your Groupwise. You can easily forward this e-mail to another account, using the "FORWARD E-MAIL" symbol on the bottom of the login page.
Some University systems will use this address as your default, especially if you attended USC as a student. We recommend that you periodicially check this account, if you do not use it as a primary address.

BLACKBOARD:
Blackboard is a Web authoring and course management tool that allows faculty and students to use the power and convenience of the Internet for teaching.
Your username and password are the same the ones you use for Groupwise and GEM.
