THE POLICY CONFERENCE

JUNE 16–19, 2001
Charleston, South Carolina

Co-Sponsored by:
Influencing State Policy (ISP)
The Council on Social Work Education (CSWE)
National Association of Social Workers (NASW) PACE

The goal of this conference is to empower the social work profession to play a greater role in influencing public social welfare policy by (1) enhancing educators' skills in policy analysis and instructional methodologies, (2) becoming familiar with current advocacy and social action efforts and developing advocacy skills, (3) cultivating linkages among education and practice communities, and (4) expanding social workers' knowledge of the political system and how to work within it to further the objectives of the profession. Conference participants may anticipate a wide range of general sessions, workshops, invited presentations, professional papers, and excellent opportunities to network!
