DeCelle Kim Copy

Kimberly DeCelle (Ph.D. student)

Kim DeCelle received her MSW at the University of Georgia and her MDiv from the Princeton Theological Seminary. She is returned to the classroom after almost a decade of psychotherapy practice, working several years with juvenile sex offenders in a residential treatment setting before joining practice at a community mental health clinic in Athens, GA. Her research interests include trauma treatments and interventions, non-traditional families, stigma, and cults. Kim has also trained in a seminary setting, and has an interest in larger questions of human suffering, and collective responses to pain and suffering in the world. She has a love of lifelong learning, and came back to school to think creatively about challenges she encountered while in the world of clinical practice. A native of Ohio, she moved to Columbia, along with her husband Mike, to start the PhD program. Kim loves animals, especially giant breed dogs, and shares her home with a large English Mastiff named King.
